Srila Bhagavatpada had not come to the Middle Asia for about a year and a half. The disciples, spoilt by his frequent visits, still cannot resign to the fact that now they see him only once a year. The devotees waited for Guru Maharaja in January, but he caught a cold, and the tour was postponed till spring. And finally, after a long absence, Guru Maharaja flew to Almaty. He was given the visa from May 12 to 19.
He arrived in the morning. During his visits to Almaty, Srila Bhagavatpada stays with Bhagavad Dharma prabhu, one of the first initiated disciples of Guru Maharaja.

In the morning Guru Maharaja came to the farm to give a class on Srimad Bhagavatam. As usually he went for an hour walk after the class. After the walk, having taken prasad he was giving darsans up to the evening class. There were disciples who arrived from all over Kazakhstan and Kirgisiya. Everybody wanted to talk to Guru Maharaja after such a long separation, so Guru Maharaja did not have the lack of association. After the class darsans lasted almost till midnight.

On the farm Guru Maharaja also gave a class on Srimad Bhagavatam. After the class he was associating with the devotees again. There was a small but cozy stage. The class was on Chandan-yatra, whose founder is Madhavendra Puri (the spiritual grandfather of Lord Caitanya). During the whole month, when it becomes hot, the Deities stand smeared in chandana (a cooling paste made of the sandal wood).

In the morning we started our way to Bishkek. In the beginning Guru Maharaja was in doubt if he had to go to this country after all the passed events. More than that almost all his disciples from Kirgisiya came to Almaty. But finally the devotees managed to persuade him to visit the other disciples. The car drove at 11 a.m. and instead of going for 3 hours like usually it took 5 hours. The roads were broken so much that in some places it was impossible to drive more than 20 km per hour. And such “paths” could extend for a few kilometers. The car was shaken even with such a speed. That’s why one can guess how tiring this journey could be. Guru Maharaja was chanting and reading books all the way.
